About The IABD Xcursion

Continuing its legacy as the broadest international gathering of Black Dance professionals, agents, artistic directors, artists, choreographers, company managers, executive directors, historians, presenters, scholars, teachers, and many others, The International Association of Blacks in Dance Annual International Conference and Festival remains the most diverse place to share ideas, cultures, and experiences.

This year the Black Dance Conference takes us to Atlanta, GA! (Information hasn't been released yet)

The Conference this upcoming year is being held from February 3 (which lands on a Tuesday), returning  February 8 (which would land on a Sunday)

The total cost of the trip is $2500. This includes flight, hotel, transportation, and the conference registration fee. Conference Registration includes breakfast, workshops, master classes, performances, and social events. We will also be hosting ongoing fundraisers that you are required to participate in (one required. The more participation, the more you can earn to cover your trip.)

IABD offers scholarship auditions for summer programs/intensives and college/university dance programs as well as multi-company dance auditions for professional dance companies in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance.

IABD’s on the 1 dance class series presents world-renowned dance faculty and celebrated instructors who work professionally in various aspects of the industry for three days of technical training and innovative methodologies. Dancers are able to choose from a variety of genres to aid in their well-rounded approach to artistry.
